Even though Chicago’s weather has kept us from putting away our puffy winter coats with its inconsistency, it’s definitely Spring, and we’re getting you into the mood with April’s Bourbon and Beats selections! With ingredients like orange peel, orange bitters and apple brandy in the cocktails on this months menu, you’ll be sipping away with thoughts of sunshine, summer and our outdoor patio that’s about to reopen on May 1st. Plus, DJ Jonathan Marks will have the perfect beats dedicated to this smooth bourbon menu. Here’s what’s behind the bar:
Classic Cocktail- Boulevardier made with Very Old Barton, Campari, Sweet Vermouth, Orange Peel. Classic is the perfect genre for this refreshing cocktail, as well as its name which is French for a weathly, fashionable socialite. It has the smooth slide of a classic bourbon flavor but brings around a nice new trend at the end with a bitter zip.
Modern Cocktail- “All That” made with Old Forrester Bourbon, Laird’s Bonded Apple Brandy, Demerara, Angostura Bitters, House Orange Bitters. Its has a smooth, sweet and fresh beginning with a hint of sweet apple to finish. This cocktail is a sweet surprise to say the least.
Whiskey Flights- Weller Wheated Series: Weller Special Reserve, Old Weller Antique 107, Weller 12 Yr. This flight will be a sweeter, more round series that pack a powerful sultry finish. Jim Beam Distiller: Baker’s, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden’s.
Remember, this menu is made specially for these events, and only during the month of April. So get it while you can! Stop by Drumbar Thursday evenings starting at 9pm to taste some of these uniquely delicious cocktails and flights while gaining knowledge about the fine spirits within them from our expert mixologists.
